Privacy Policy

What this covers

This is the privacy policy for studioeight.app, the Studio Eight website. It covers the forms and the intake conversation on this site. Our apps are separate. Based and Whisper each have their own policy.

What we collect

We collect what you send us:

• Your name and your email address, when you send an inquiry.
• Your phone number, only if you choose to add it.
• What you type in the intake conversation or the project form.
• The page you were on when you sent it.
• Your current website address, if you fill that field in.
• Your business type and service area when you request a website review.
• Campaign tags in the link you arrived on, like utm_source.

We do not ask for payment details. No measurement script from Google or Meta loads unless you allow site measurement, and none loads at all while it is not configured.

Why we collect it

To read your inquiry, scope the work, and reply with a number. Campaign tags tell us which ad or link brought you here. That is the whole reason.

Where it goes

Forms on this site submit through FormSubmit, at formsubmit.co. FormSubmit turns your submission into an email to michael@studioeight.app. Our site shows an on-page confirmation that the request was accepted. Your details pass through FormSubmit on the way to our inbox. That service handles them under its own policy, not ours.

The intake conversation

The chat on this site is an intake agent. What you type is sent to our own endpoint on this site. That endpoint passes the messages to the Anthropic API, which writes the reply. When the agent is not configured, replies are written in your browser instead. We do not keep the conversation on a server. It reaches us in the email you send at the end.

Measurement, only if you allow it

When you first visit, the site asks whether to allow measurement. Nothing from Google or Meta loads before you answer, and nothing loads if you decline. If you allow it, and the site is configured for it, two things load:

• Google Analytics 4. It records which of our public pages you view and that an inquiry was accepted. Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off.
• The Meta Pixel. It records page views, that you viewed a service or city page, and that an inquiry was accepted. Automatic collection of button text and form fields is switched off. Meta can match these events to a Meta account you are signed into, and may use them to measure and show us ads.

We also send a copy of the page view and inquiry events to Meta from our own server, through the Meta Conversions API, so the two copies are counted once. That copy carries your IP address, your browser's user agent, the Meta browser cookies if they exist, and, for an accepted inquiry, a one-way hash of your email address. The email itself, your name, your phone number and what you wrote never go to Google or Meta.

Google and Meta process this data under their own privacy policies. Your measurement choice is stored locally in your browser. If you allow it, Google may set analytics cookies and Meta may set its _fbp and _fbc cookies. Clear this site's browser storage and cookies to reset your choice. Declining changes nothing about how the forms or the intake conversation work.

Campaign tags are kept in your browser session storage, under one key. Your browser drops them when you close the tab.

How long we keep it

Your inquiry lives in the Studio Eight email inbox. It stays there while we are talking, and after, as a record of the project. Ask us to delete it and we do.

We never sell it

We do not sell, rent or trade your details. There is no newsletter and no drip sequence. The only companies that touch your details are the ones named above: FormSubmit, Anthropic, and, only if you allowed measurement, Google and Meta.

Deleting your data

Email michael@studioeight.app and ask us to delete your inquiry. We remove it from the inbox and write back to confirm.

Our apps

Based and Whisper collect their own data inside the apps. Those are covered by the Based privacy policy and the Whisper privacy policy.

Changes

If this policy changes, we update the date at the top of this page.
