Mantra: Smart Journal (“App”) is operated by Studio Eight (“we”, “us”). We built Mantra so you can express your thoughts freely and receive guidance derived from your own reflections. Protecting your privacy is core to that promise.

1) Scope

This policy applies to the App, our website studioeight.app, and related pages such as /privacy and /terms. It covers information we collect directly from you and information processed on your device to operate the App.

4) Selling or sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use cross-app or cross-site tracking for advertising. Limited data may be processed by service providers strictly to operate the App (see Section 9).

5) Retention

We retain data only as long as needed to provide the service and for legitimate business or legal purposes. You can request deletion at any time (Section 11). Backups and logs may persist for a limited period consistent with normal operations.

6) Security

Data in transit uses industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS). Access to production systems is restricted and audited. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, but we continuously work to protect your information.

7) Children

The App is intended for individuals aged 13+ (or the equivalent age of digital consent in your country). If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate action.

8) Widgets & notifications

Lock Screen and Home Screen widgets show derived mantras generated from your reflections—not your raw journal text. Notifications, if enabled, may prompt you to journal or review guidance; you can control these in your device settings.

9) Third-party services (processors)

We rely on trusted providers to deliver the App. These vendors process limited data under agreements that restrict use to providing services to us.

We may update this list as our stack evolves; material changes will be reflected in this policy.

10) Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, object to, or delete your personal data. We honor these rights and will verify your request to protect your account.

11) Delete your data

You can request account and data deletion by emailing support@studioeight.app from the email tied to your account. We’ll confirm deletion after verifying your request. Note that some transactional records (e.g., purchase receipts) may be retained where required by law.

12) International transfers

We may process data in the United States and other countries. When we transfer data, we use appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable laws.

13) Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect product or legal changes. We’ll post updates here with a new effective date. If changes materially affect your rights, we will provide additional notice in the App or by email (where appropriate).
